Here is a real nice U.S. WW II USMC KA-BAR fighting knife.
Very good condition.
One of the most collected WWII fighting knives.
Although I cant confirm this is a WW2 knife, it has all of the characteristics. I think its the real deal.
Some GI or sailor tied a large Turks Head knot at the pommel of the knife.
The leather handle is in tact other than someone repaired the section where the bottom spacer would go. Again it is a very unique and creative repair.
The thick pommel is the older style with the peened circular pin on top, rather than the rectangular one later production.
The blade is full and has pleanty of patina.
Nice deep KA-BAR OLEAN N.Y. stamped on one ricasso. USMS on the other ricasso.
The clip has been sharpened.
11.5″ OAL 6.5″ Cutting edge, 1/8″ ricasso.
The original brown leather stiched & rivited sheath is also in excellent condition. All stiching and rivets are intact. The original keeper strap was missing so I added one.
This is a great collectible military knife
