I am intrigued with military knives of this vintage. Hope you are also.
As the saying goes: If only they could talk Id love to hear what this one has to say! It is a bodacious knife.
I really wont be too upset if this knife never sells.
This is a real piece of WW II history.
It appears to have been made from a KA-BAR that was shortened.
A 1clip was put on the blade.
Alumnium butt cap.
A brass guard then an aluminum piece.
Black, maroon, aluminum, and brass spacers make up the handle.
Whats unique about this knife is it has an individuals name and date stamped on the tang. C.J. Carlton stamped on one side and 11-45 stamped on the other.
You dont suppose this could be Carlton of Carltons Raiders? NAW
9 3/4″ oal 5 1/4″ blade
A heavy duty sheath that appears to have been made for the knife is stamped WESTON SUPPLY COMPANY MAKERS SAN GABRIEL, CALIF.
