Mike Franklin is a full time Ohio knifemaker and started making knives in 1969. This is one of his early knives. I’ve had the knife 3 or 4 years.
I’m selling as used as I’m not the original owner. However as you can see from the photos the knife has never been used.
The edge looks original. Full tang
A fairly small full tang fixed blade knife. Great knife for every day carry
Beautiful multi-color micarta handle scales held on with 2 stainless hex screws.
He left some of the butt end exposed as a lanyard. Rawhide lanyard.
Large Finger groove that makes for a great grip.
High polished spear point hollow ground blade.
Most likely the blade is made from ATS 34 stainless steel. Notches cut on top edge of blade
His HAWG logo etched on one side of blade. M H Franklin in script and
9-00 A etched on the other side. I’m guessing the knife was made September 2000, don’t know what the A stands for.
5 7/8″ OAL, 3.0″ Blade, 2 1/4″ Cutting Edge, 1/8″ thick
I had a custom leather belt sheath with ostrich front made for the knife. Makes a fine looking package.
Mike makes his own black kydex sheaths. This black kydex neck sheath with ball chain
