For your consideration is this custom handmade hunting knife by John Champion. I obtained the knife from John when he lived in Colorado in the early 1980’s. I lost track of him but last I heard he had moved to Alabama.
John made his knives by hand with little machinery. I believe he had band saws, grinders, buffers and hand tools). He heat treated his own blades.
The knife has never been used, carried or sharpened. some light scratches from handling and in and out of sheath.
I can’t remember the type of steel John used in the blade but he put a mirror polish on it.
J. Champion COLO is stamped on one side of the blade.
Multi-color Dymondwood handle scales attached with 2 large pins. There are 4-finger grooves which give a secure grip.
7 7/8″ oal, 3 5/8″ blade,3/16″ Thick
The sheath is well made and was made by John’s wife. This one is a brown stained cowhide sheath. John’s logo “Champion Cutlery C C” stamped on on the back side. Machine stitched with a belt loop and safety snap.
