Product Description
Dale is an Alaskan Eskimo knife maker. I met Dale when he lived here in Arizona. He as since moved back to Alaska. I obtained this handmade ULU from him.
A ulu is an all-purpose knife traditionally used for everything from skinning and cleaning animals, cutting a child’s hair, cutting food and, if necessary, trimming blocks of snow and ice used to build an igloo.
Dale made the unique handle from a section of cactus that he stabilized and dyed. He carved the Arizona desert scene on one side of the handle
He made the blade from a piece of L6 saw blade, Matson D is etched on one side of blade
The cutting edge is 6 1/2″ The handle is 3″ 4 1/2″ Top to bottom
I had a custom brown leather sheath made for the knife.
