Recently my wife and I made a visit to Dawson 3G Custom Knife’s new retail store and shop in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Knifemaker John Roy gave us a tour of the facility. It’s impressive. As you can see from the photos, the shop is clean, bright, safe, efficiently laied out and has state of the art equipment. Dawson Knives completes the entire knifemaking process in their shop. They start by profiling, grinding, heat treating, applying handles, applying camouflage Ceracote ( a very hard durable finish) to the entire knife, make the camouflaged Kryptek camouflage sheaths, final test and package.
A true family business. They are now in their 3rd generation and going strong, all started by patriarch Barry Dawson, who is still active in the business.
While there, John re-instated Lee’s Cutlery as an Arizona dealer for Dawson Knives. I’ve carried their knives many years. I look forward to providing their new line of camouflaged knives and camouflaged Kryptek sheaths. Their new line will consist of about 40 new models.
I’m all set up at the 2015 Glass City Knife Show in Toledo, Ohio and ready for the doors to open tomorrow for the 3-day show. There are many quality knife makers, suppliers and purveyors attending this show. The promoter, Mark Molnar has done a terrific job putting this group together. If you attend the show stop by my display under the orange Lee’s Cutlery sign and say hi.
