CUSTOM WESTERN W49 BOWIE COLORADO FIXED BLADE KNIFE

A very nice vintage Western made W 49 bowie knife and original leather sheath. It was made in 1980 by the D stamped on the blade. Was probably used some before I had Bash Dani of Prescot, Arizona customize the knife.Western knives was located in Longmont Colorado. They went out of business in the 80's.

This is Western's popular W49 Bowie knife. This knife is much better quality than the Western's of today. The name was purchased several years ago.

Many of these were carried by our troops in Viet Nam.

As mentioned, Bash Dani cleaned and polished the blade like new. Did a beautiful inlay on both sides of the handle. Their inlay work is as good as any others I've seen. Iron wood, tuquoise, pearl, black, red, brass and blue spacers make up the handle. Very intricate.

The blade has a mirror polish, some light scratches can be seen that they couldn't get out/ brass "S" guard. Bash Dani did file work the length of the blade on top edge. Full tang

WESTERN U.S.A. AND D are stamped on one tang.

14.75" OAL, 9.25" Clip Blade, 3/16" thick

Original western leather sheath included. WESTERN is stamped on the front. The sheath is in excellent condition. Bash Dani dyed the sheath a dark brown. Very nice.
